Ideally situated for exploring the Uists and the Outer Hebrides

The Wheelhouse is a newly built (2023) self-catering cabin on our working family croft on the island of Grimsay.

Outside you’ll find sea or a beach (depending on the tide), pools to dip into for that bracing swim and a place to sit and enjoy both. There’s also an outside shower to wash sandy toes.

There are hills to contemplate or climb, lochs and moorland to explore, all on the doorstep of The Wheelhouse. Birds abound, all shapes and sizes.

We’ll be delighted to help you practise your Gaelic and to assist you in any way to make your stay in the Outer Hebrides the best it can be, whether you are looking for a comfortable night or two whilst exploring the Hebridean Way on bike or foot - or if you would like to really explore the Uists from a central base over a week.
